A Little Comfort in a Small Pan

A cheesy, spicy baked ravioli for two — perfect when you want comfort without a sink full of dishes.

One Pan Ravioli Bake

This recipe came from one of those nights — tired, slightly over it, but still wanting something that feels like you tried. Not a project. Not a production. Just something warm, cheesy, and deeply satisfying.

You can absolutely make your own marinara if that’s your thing, but honestly? Store-bought works beautifully here. The magic comes from enriching it with cream, tomato paste, and Calabrian chili — suddenly it tastes like you planned ahead.

It only serves two, which I love. No giant casserole haunting your fridge. Just enough to scratch the comfort itch — what I call an “eating your feelings but still functioning” kind of meal.

Why this Recipe Works

Frozen ravioli cooks directly in sauce — It absorbs flavor as it bakes, so you get tender pasta without boiling a separate pot (and fewer dishes, which feels like a small miracle).

Tomato paste + cream = instant depth — The paste adds concentrated richness while cream smooths acidity, giving you a sauce that tastes slow-cooked even when it’s not.

Calabrian chili brings balanced heat — It’s spicy but also fruity and slightly smoky, which keeps the dish interesting instead of just “hot.”

Layered cheeses create the perfect melt — Mozzarella gives you stretch, fontina or provolone adds buttery flavor, and Parmesan brings the salty finish that makes everything pop.

Small batch keeps the texture right — Baking in a smaller dish keeps the sauce from drying out and ensures every bite is saucy and cheesy.

Tips for Making One Pan Baked Ravioli

• Don’t thaw ravioli — bake straight from frozen for best texture.

• Use a small dish so sauce stays cozy around pasta.

• Calabrian chili varies in heat — start small if unsure.

• Let it rest before serving so sauce thickens slightly.

• Broiling at the end gives that irresistible bubbly top.
